I wanted to share a fun behind the scene story about this random act. Dakota had given me this domino several weeks earlier and it had been sitting on my desk. I was trying to come up with "a great" random act, but kept struggling with what to do. I finally decided I'd just put it in my pocket and let the universe guide me. We were getting ready to go on a road trip and I figured I'd find an opportunity during the next week. We got about 5 minuted down the road and realized we'd forgotten something - so back to the house we went. When I back came out with the forgotten item in hand, there was a car in front of our house with the hood up. Literally right in front of our house. Thanks universe - message received! So here is the point. A random act doesn't need to be perfect. It doesn't need to be planned. The point of a random act is a state of mind. It is about the way we approach our day. It is about stepping back from our day-to-day concerns and looking around for people that can use a hand, a smile, or a pat on the back. It doesn't take much to make a difference in someone's day. If you have a domino, carry it with you. When you're looking for opportunities to do good, you'll find them. Thanks Dakota!
